Hubby says I was in there a looooooong time! Probably three to four hours! There was so much to see! Dollhouses, vintage and antique miniatures, new miniature furniture and accessories--I felt like I was in heaven! :-)
While there, I found a couple of special miniatures for my Dad's Dollhouse. One was the Kwan Yin Bodhisattva of Compassion statue shown here on the mantle of Dad's Dollhouse:
What's amazing about this mini statue is that it is really similar to one we have at home that we bought on our way to our wedding! I love having things in my dollhouse that are special like that. See the real-scale statue here with the miniature one next to it:
Another wonderful find was this sweet miniature tea set with pink roses:
Dot's Dollhouse is located inside an incredible antiques mall called the Rocking Horse Mall. It's at 1542 NE Hwy 101, Lincoln City, Oregon 97367. The telephone number is (541) 994-4647. It is well worth a visit if you are touring the Oregon coast.
Until next time.... xoxo Jennifer

ReplyDeleteThe little statue is gorgeous, what a great find. So is the little tea set. The vase and flowers found wonderful company to be with.
ReplyDeleteHave a great time and don't forget to collect sea shells from the seabed.

Claudia
You bought some beautiful miniatures.
ReplyDeleteBye Faby
Sounds like Heaven to me :)
ReplyDeleteLove your little statue and what a wonderful reminder of your trip.

Hi Heleni! That is really sweet of you to say! Antiques malls are like antiques shops divided into sections with several vendors who rent space there. It is a smaller space than a big shopping mall, but packed full of many interesting things. You may have been to one in the Netherlands but they call it something else, like a flea market or something. I am amazed at the huge miniatures shows you have in Europe--how lucky you are! :-)
ReplyDeleteHola Naran! Yes, I spent hours looking at every tiny thing. My husband went to a coffee shop to use the WiFi, but still he got a little bit bored waiting for me! But he was very patient! :-)
ReplyDeleteHola Becky! So you spend hours and hours too?! I think many miniature enthusiasts can relate to this! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Sjoukje! Thank you so very much! It is good to hear from you! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Genevieve! You have probably been to a shop this big! We don't have many retail miniature shops in Oregon anymore--just a few, and they are small. Hopefully we can have more and larger ones again, like back in the 1970s and 1980s. Thank you for your lovely comment! :-)
ReplyDeleteHola Carmen! Yes, good shopping! It was really fun! Thank you for leaving a comment! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Drora! Isn't it true? Your vase of flowers looks so lovely in the livingroom! The theme in that room is starting to come together nicely, and your vase of flowers is tying everything together--thank you! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like so fun! The statue is beautiful. And your husband must also be a nice man.
ReplyDeleteMona
Hi Maria! Do you have retail miniatures shops in Ireland? We used to have quite a few 30 years ago, but they're almost all gone now. This shop isn't huge, but it is unique. I must drive 3 hours to Seattle to find anything else like it! How far do you drive to get to a dollhouse shop?
ReplyDeleteHola Eloisa! Yes, the scenery at Lincoln City, and all along the Oregon coast, is very beautiful. We really enjoyed our trip! Thank you for leaving a lovely comment! :-)
ReplyDeleteHola Maru! You are so sweet! Thank you for saying such sweet things! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Birgit! Yes, trip to paradise, heaven, whatever you want to say, it was so much fun! Thank you for your lovely comment! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Claudia! Great to hear from you again! Yes, I love your two bird lamps--one in your house, the other in your dollhouse--great fun! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Fabiola! Great to hear from you! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Victora! Doesn't it, though?! I like what you say about the statue being a good reminder of my trip--well said! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Mona! Yes, I got lucky when I found him! :-) Thank you for taking the time to leave me such a lovely comment!
ReplyDeleteMe alegro de que te hayas divertido tanto y encima hallas comprado esas maravillas.

ReplyDeleteOh, that must have been a heaven! Thank you for this post, most interesting. Hugs, Sanne
ReplyDeleteHi Sanne! Yes, it was heaven! You are very welcome--thank you! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer We do have a dollshouse shop in the city ( Dublin ) which is an hour away by bus. Its rather small and not cheap.I guess its better than nothing though you wouldnt spend hours in it lol. Thank you for asking :)
ReplyDeleteHugs Maria
Hi Maria! Oh, that's interesting! Thanks for sharing about this. It seems that better options are almost always online these days, or at miniature shows, but I do miss a good old-fashioned retail dollhouse shop sometimes! :-)
ReplyDeleteEres una chica con suerte!
ReplyDeletede viaje y con minuaturas!!! la estatua es bellísima, la grande y la pequeña y ese juego de té
Me alegro mucho por tí, luces guapísima en las fotos
Muchos besos
Hola Rosamargarita! Yes, miniature travel is really fun! :-) Thank you for your words about the lighting in the photos! You always leave such loving comments! :-)
ReplyDeleteI mean: You look GREAT! at the pictures (Spanish is a intringulate lenguaje sometimes... Luces means lights, yes, but also means "you look"!!!)
ReplyDeleteMás besos
Is that you, Jen? You looked really happy :).
ReplyDeleteThat Kwan Yin is a fantastic find! The life size one is beautiful. My mum would have loved that one.
What a great trip! I love the photo tour and felt like I was right there with you! Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour photo work with the mini's is excellent by the way!
Lucky you to have such a wonderful day in a "miniwonderland"! I can imagine... love your purchases :)
ReplyDeleteHola Rosamargarita! Thank you SO much for explaining it to me. I just read the translation and had no idea. That is very sweet of you to say--thank you very much! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Sans! I usually look like that, actually! :-D Nothing different, but I definitely had a great time at Dot's! Isn't that Kwan Yin a sweet one? So glad I found it--and it works beautifully with the one you gave me! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeni! Glad you liked the post and photos of minis. As a professional photographer, you know that it may take many shots before getting the right one. ;-) Thanks so much for leaving a comment!
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole! Thank you very much--you are very kind. Both things that I bought were really sweet, like you! :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful time, what a nice name the attic in the rocking horse, I wished we had something like that here in Holland.
ReplyDeleteYour little statue and tea set is beautiful, I like the roses very much.
But best of all are your pictures, I now have a face that belongs to all the sweet things your make and write.
Hugs Mieke xxx
