Trip to Dot's Doll House in Lincoln City, Oregon

My husband and I recently took a trip to Linclon City, Oregon. The weather was gorgeous, and we had a great time. One of the highlights of the trip was visiting Dot's Doll House. It is the biggest retail dollhouse miniatures shop (as of this writing) in Oregon. I first heard about it at my mini club meeting in August, and I was itching to get there, so we planned a trip around it. I'm so glad we did, because it was so much fun!

Hubby says I was in there a looooooong time! Probably three to four hours! There was so much to see! Dollhouses, vintage and antique miniatures, new miniature furniture and accessories--I felt like I was in heaven! :-)

While there, I found a couple of special miniatures for my Dad's Dollhouse. One was the Kwan Yin Bodhisattva of Compassion statue shown here on the mantle of Dad's Dollhouse:

What's amazing about this mini statue is that it is really similar to one we have at home that we bought on our way to our wedding! I love having things in my dollhouse that are special like that. See the real-scale statue here with the miniature one next to it:

Another wonderful find was this sweet miniature tea set with pink roses:

Dot's Dollhouse is located inside an incredible antiques mall called the Rocking Horse Mall. It's at 1542 NE Hwy 101, Lincoln City, Oregon 97367. The telephone number is (541) 994-4647. It is well worth a visit if you are touring the Oregon coast.

I'll leave you with a sunset photo taken from our Lincoln City hotel room:

Until next time.... xoxo Jennifer

  14. Hi Heleni! That is really sweet of you to say! Antiques malls are like antiques shops divided into sections with several vendors who rent space there. It is a smaller space than a big shopping mall, but packed full of many interesting things. You may have been to one in the Netherlands but they call it something else, like a flea market or something. I am amazed at the huge miniatures shows you have in Europe--how lucky you are! :-)

  15. Hola Naran! Yes, I spent hours looking at every tiny thing. My husband went to a coffee shop to use the WiFi, but still he got a little bit bored waiting for me! But he was very patient! :-)

  16. Hola Becky! So you spend hours and hours too?! I think many miniature enthusiasts can relate to this! ;-)

  18. Hi Genevieve! You have probably been to a shop this big! We don't have many retail miniature shops in Oregon anymore--just a few, and they are small. Hopefully we can have more and larger ones again, like back in the 1970s and 1980s. Thank you for your lovely comment! :-)

  20. Hi Drora! Isn't it true? Your vase of flowers looks so lovely in the livingroom! The theme in that room is starting to come together nicely, and your vase of flowers is tying everything together--thank you! :-)

  22. Hi Maria! Do you have retail miniatures shops in Ireland? We used to have quite a few 30 years ago, but they're almost all gone now. This shop isn't huge, but it is unique. I must drive 3 hours to Seattle to find anything else like it! How far do you drive to get to a dollhouse shop?

  35. Hi Maria! Oh, that's interesting! Thanks for sharing about this. It seems that better options are almost always online these days, or at miniature shows, but I do miss a good old-fashioned retail dollhouse shop sometimes! :-)
