Bluebelle and Sophie Give Thanks!

Poor Bluebelle! She was working all day in her cake shop with nowhere to sleep after a hard day's work! Now she finally has a sleeping nook in the rafters of her shop where she can sleep at night or even take a cat nap in the middle of the day, when there are no customers, of course. ;-)

Look how peacefully she rests on her perch in the rafters! I think she's snoring! tee hee!

And then she can fly down to the cake shop to start another day! Bluebelle is definitely doing a little happy dance and giving thanks for her new bedroom, and it wouldn't have been completed nearly as quickly if I hadn't seen Jane's post on using foam core board in miniature building. (Shh! I didn't even have to glue in the loft, since I cut the foam core board slightly large and squeezed it between the walls of the cake shop! It's very stable and so simple! ;-))

Next, Sophie is giving thanks for two things. First, we won Lisa's amazing autumn "Give Thanks" giveaway over at Mini Addictions blog, and Lisa wrapped everything so beautifully and sent so many gorgeous prizes and extra gifts! Mmm, look at that tasty pumpkin pie and those gorgeous Georgia peaches in a handmade basket!

But that's not all! Lisa also sent all these goodies, including this incredible dollhouse miniature Halloween rug:

Can you believe how tiny the stitches are?! Lisa used a magnifier to make it--what a very generous and thoughtful gift! Now I can get better light in Sophie's cabin for taking photographs. Sophie loves her new windows and is planning to put some pretty curtains up next. Where's Flossy? Miniature Dessert Giveaway!!!

Please forgive Flossy and Sophie for not getting up from their chairs to greet you, for their paws are so tired. You see, they've been busy, busy, busy, as have I, and they must rest. Still, I promised a fall giveaway, and now it is nearly winter, so here it is, my friends!

Recent Gifts From Blog Friends

We're coming into Easter season, that time that is oh-so-close to my birthday, and I've received so many wonderful gifts from blog friends already. I'm so touched by everyone's thoughtfulness. Additionally, I recently won three giveaways, so it's like an extra-extra wonderful birthday season! Today I'll show you some of what has arrived. I'm so far behind that this may take me several posts. :-)

Notice Plushpussycat's new sweet doll from Lucille? She loves it!

First up: Lucille, a miniaturist, blog reader and prolific commenter who is familiar to many of us. She is Plushpussycat's (the plush critter that is also my avatar) biggest fan. Lucille's comments really make my day. She sent some gorgeous gifts, including two especially for Plushpussycat: a darling pink doll, and a mouth-watering hamburger plate.

Clear back in February I received a wonderful packet of precious gifts from Petra of peetjes dollhouses blog. Just look at the sweet things she sent:

Petra made everything but the girl doll with the hat and the card, from her hospital bed no less! I keep the needle felted snowman at my computer, where it reminds me of Petra. Look at the darling shabby chic bra and panties set Petra made for Flossy too:

Finally (for this post, anyway!), I received over 1 lb. (500 grams) of tiny scale fabrics and laces from Klara Meijer of Klara's Blog and Klara's Handwerk blog. Out of the goodness of her heart, she sent me all of this:

Dollhouse Miniature Gifts and Giveaways!

There's so much to tell you--let's get started! Be sure and read this whole post--you don't want to miss the giveaway news! :-)

Remember Julia's fantastic tip on how to miniaturize an image? She generously gave me a copy of her Cath Kidston party set, and I miniaturized it and printed some more pieces from the set, including these darling party hats, fun blue polka dot carton, the washi tape holder, and this festive multi-colored bunting.

The Japanese washi tapes were made by asukasakumo on Etsy.

There are so many more pieces in this party set. And there are several party sets to choose from--all super-cute! You can get your own party set in Julia's Etsy shop. Thank you again for your lovely gift, Julia!

Speaking of gifts, I received several surprise Christmas gifts in the mail over the last few weeks. I already showed you Drora's wonderful gifts. Next, I received a gorgeous surprise from maribel of MINIATURAS ISABEL blog:

Miniature Holiday Giveaway!

Hello everyone! I've been planning this giveaway for a while. You know how much I love giveaways, and I love having the opportunity to thank you all for following my blog and leaving such lovely comments. I have a lot to be grateful for, and it's the gratitude I feel toward all of you that inspires this giveaway.

Whenever I'm out, I'm on the lookout for mini-patterned fabric for miniature projects. I kept finding Christmas fabrics and finally had enough to offer TWO PRIZES! Yes, there are two prizes in this giveaway!

OK, besides the mini Christmas fabrics, there are other fabrics (such as red and green with tiny white polka dots), there's holiday-colored ribbon, AND there's a MINI TRIPOD for each winner. These mini tripods are fantastic for taking close-up photos of your dollhouses and miniature scenes. They really help avoid blurry photographs (I speak from experience, because I often use one).

Centerpiece of Cupcake Cottage's Kitchen

It's early morning here at Cupcake Cottage. The sun is up, the cupcakes are freshly baked and frosted, and it's going to be a good day. The centerpiece of Cupcake Cottage, the one that sets the tone for the whole room, is this gorgeous kitchen hutch / dresser, made by Vicky Lovejoy of Lovejoy Bears blog. I love this piece, with all of its whimsical charm. Cupcake Cottage wouldn't be the same without it.

Vicky has opened a beautiful Etsy shop, and it's full of pieces lovingly hand made by her, all loaded with that special something that is uniquely hers. It always feels happy. Just take a look at this precious piece:

This little cabinet would be gorgeous in almost any room of your dollhouse. Just try to picture it in the bathroom, the bedroom, the hallway, the kitchen--it would be perfect anywhere!

Birthday Cards and a Winner!

Hi everyone! Let me share a little good news with you before I announce the winner to the followers giveaway. A Lavender Dilly Plus More Fun!

I don't know about you, but when I find a new shop that I love, it's a thrill. I discovered A Lavender Dilly on Etsy back in March, and I've made several purchases from the shop since then. Look at these gorgeous plates:

I always wanted some mini blue willow dishes, and now I have them. There are so many designs to choose from--these are just some of my favorites.

And here's the first item I bought from A Lavender Dilly, a pile of shabby books. They're so fun! One book even has a faint coffee mug ring on it! How's that for realism? It's always been a pleasure buying from Carrie at A Lavender Dilly too. Her customer service is top notch, and she has always included something free with my purchases--yay! Plus, isn't it fun anticipating receiving a package from far away? I love it.
