Guinea Pig Love

I didn't realize that when I bought Gino the dollhouse miniature guinea pig from LugArtPetit that I would fall in love with guinea pigs so much. Gino is a real sweetheart:

And so is my little Rufus:

I just got Rufus a couple of weeks ago. He is a year old and the most adorable thing. He trills when he hears the rustling of plastic bags (he thinks it's time for food!). He runs around the huge, luxurious cage my husband built for him. He curls up and sleeps in his little hut and hides in his tunnel. He takes carrots from our hands too!

His pen / cage is near our dining room table, so we can watch his antics while we eat. We laugh and smile so much while we eat together. A big thank you goes to Ines of Liliput Things blog, who answered many questions about guinea pigs before I got him. He's keeping me busy these days, but not too busy, which is good.

I couldn't resist his sweet face!

You see, I've been trying to carve out more time in my schedule for creating. So far, I think Rufus is a little inspiration for me. I hope to show you some new creations soon! xoxo Jennifer

New Puppy in Cupcake Cottage!

Hello everyone! I recently added a new furry friend to Cupcake Cottage. It's a little Labrador puppy made by Magda at 1717mk on Etsy. Do you know her blog? I'm a long-time follower and happened to see that she was offering a coupon. Lucky me, because I had favorited several of her shop's items.

He's a real cutie, but it looks like there's a slight problem. See, Gino the guinea pig wants to steal the puppy's  bed! They're having a "turf battle."

And so far, Gino the guinea pig is holding his ground! ;-)

The puppy came all the way from Poland, but he still doesn't have a name! Does anyone have any ideas for a good name? I appreciate your help and thank you for your visit. Hope you had some fun! xoxo Jennifer

Breakfast Time at Cupcake Cottage

It's breakfast time at Cupcake Cottage. There's bread with jam and milk, fresh strawberries, and of course, cupcakes! Everything touching the green cloth came from LugArt petit on Etsy, including the tiny tea towel and oven mitt.

Next, we see another tea towel from LugArt petit, this time at the shabby kitchen sink. It's almost time to wash the breakfast dishes!

And finally, in preparation for a mid-morning chocolate chip cookie break, we see another one of their cute oven mitts in the background:

Two of the nicest people you'll ever meet, LugArt petit is the work of sisters Maria Jose and Monica from Barcelona. They're currently having an adorable blog giveaway. Don't miss the chance to win a miniature purse with matching shoes! They also take custom orders in their shop. You can look at their sold orders, as well as their current shop listings, for ideas on what to order.

I hope you enjoyed this little morning visit to Cupcake Cottage. These are some of my first photos since I relocated to the new dollhouse. It sure has a lot more room! Keep having fun! xoxo Jennifer

P.S. I have several things to celebrate, including 700 blog friends! Look for my giveaway in the next few days! :-)

P.P.S. Does anyone know how to get rid of the white highlighting around some of my text in this post? I'm not sure what is causing it. Thanks in advance!

Cookie Fight!

"Oh, yummy! Chocolate chip cookies!!!"

Uh, oh! Cookie fight!

Don't worry, dear readers. Cupcake Cottage's newest inhabitants are still friends. They worked everything out with the law of the jungle. See, Leoncio the lion is still friends with little Gino the guinea pig:

And Candy the bear is acting like a little lady again. ;-)

All three of these irresistibly cute critters were made by LugArt petit. I won their blog giveaway a few months back. You can see the very cute prizes I won on my previous post. I bought these three critters, however, very recently--who could resist?!

The two sisters from Barcelona behind LugArt petit, Maria Jose and Monica, make the cutest miniature critters, kitchen items, food, handbags, and more! Be sure to check out their shop on Etsy for a daily dose of cuteness! Keep having fun! xoxo Jennifer

Prizes From Santa

I received two more blog giveaway prizes in the mail, and they are so sweet! First, I won Lugart petit's giveaway. LugArt petit is two sisters, Maria-Jose and Monica, from Barcelona, Spain. They make adorable miniature things. I won this cute little needle-felted bear, a sweet shabby chic canister set (with lids that open!), and a pile of teeny tiny cookies:

The tiny bear is only 7/8 inch (less than 2 1/2 cm) tall! I show it here with a half-scale vintage Japanese brass bed. Can you believe how tiny and cute these things are?! Lugart Petit has a lovely Etsy shop you might want to check out too. :-) Thank you Maria-Jose and Monica!

The second prize I won is this adorable Moses basket with rose patterned fabric (also quite petite) from Anna of  Littlethings blog in Athens, Greece. I show the Moses basket here with a half-scale vintage Japanese ironing board. Isn't Anna's prize pretty and sweet? She also sent a couple of lovely handmade extras: a Santa magnet and a heart-shaped tree ornament. How thoughtful! Thank you Anna! Here is Anna's shop.

Next time I will show Dad's Dollhouse dressed in its Christmas finest. That's in two days, on Christmas eve. Also, I haven't mentioned it in a while, but my Big Miniatures Giveaway is still going on. Check out the giveaway post to enter. There's still time! You can enter through January 1, 2012, and I will announce the winner on January 2, 2012. Until next time.... xoxo Jennifer
