Strawberry Shortcake in the Bedroom

How's that for a title, eh? ;-) Seriously, though, last time I showed some photos of my vintage Strawberry Shortcake dolls in their newly-decorated Hello Kitty dollhouse, I only showed the downstairs (kitchen and living room). Now here are some additional dolls in the upstairs bedroom. First, Orange Blossom, who you met last time, with a new teddy bear I made:

Next, it's Strawberry Shortcake herself! This doll is a special "sleeper" doll (her eyes open and close):

Finally (for today), there's Cafe Ole. She was a Mexican doll in the Strawberry Shortcake international doll series:

The girls had a sleep-over (slumber party). Cafe Ole is still in her nightgown and cap, trying to wake up. :-) Don't those big fuzzy slippers look comfortable?

This doll stuff is a blast! I've had so much fun decorating the house, gathering the dolls, and finding clothes for them. I was thrilled to see your comments last time. So many of you remembered these dolls, and even if you didn't, they seemed to resonate with you. If you have/had these dolls, now or previously, which are/were your favorites? Until next time, keep it fun! xoxo Jennifer

  6. Love the decorating! Yes, I had these dolls as a kid. I guess Strawberry Shortcake was my favorite. But I've always loved the color yellow, so I think her name was Lemon Meringue? Anyway, great job!

    Lisa

Love love love all the furniture and curtains and bedding! The teddy bear is so cute!!! Please post more pictures of your dolls and their dollhouse! I am having doll envy now that I see the vintage dolls looking so cute! Are they wearing their original clothes or new clothes? 1. Hi Jane Cherie, The only doll wearing her original clothes so far is the blond Dutch girl in the first photo in my previous post. All the others are either wearing Berry Wear clothes and shoes or other clothes that I've found for them.

  9. Hi Jennifer! It's such a beautifully bright and colorful bedroom no wonder they wanted a sleep-over! You have done a wonderful job of decorating it and the bear looks super-cute! I'm so glad you're getting so much enjoyment from them. Will you be getting any other characters? Kind regards, Brian.

  16. I'm not familiar with these dolls - but they look gorgeous in the scenes you're creating for them. There are so many lovely details to spot - and what a great idea for the scene to pretend they had a slumber party. I only wonder why it's Cafe Ole still being so tired... you would expect a coffee lover being more awake... *grin*

  21. Hi Jennifer, The dolls are adorable! My little sister had them. I remember at a family gathering my sister's bestie from back in the day came up to me and blurted,"JOHN! I remember you! You used to play BARBIE with us!' and the room suddenly went silent as the grave and my brothers absolutely glowered at me. I nearly choked on my Hi C and white cake. If looks could kill I'd definitely be pushing up daisies. Oh wells...I love the cheery colors of your dolls and their fab, new house. It forces a smile on my face which is unfortunate as I can NOT afford the wrinkles.

    XOXO,
    John

    1. Hi mxremi! The dresses are ready-made clothes designed for Barbie's little sister. The nightgown and cap are from a vintage Very Berry set of clothes designed for Strawberry Shortcake. Hope that helps! xo Jennifer
