Plates, spoons, and tiny vintage desserts by IDreamofMini on Etsy. |
I was never much of a "doll person" until I saw this line of vintage dolls from 1979. And then, of course, they HAD to have a house, so I put this one together in a flash and had so much fun decorating it! It felt like when I built a dollhouse for my Barbie dolls from cardboard boxes at age twelve. :-)
I'll tell you more about the dollhouse and show you more of the dolls in future posts. This is just a taste. ;-) Hey, but where is Strawberry Shortcake? Don't worry, I'll introduce her very soon. :-)
So this is the new interest I mentioned. BTW, I recently received some amazing miniature gifts in the mail from Jane of MiniFanaticus. I'll show them next. Until next time, keep it fun! xoxo Jennifer
Cute dolls! Hope to see more of their house soon!:) :)

I had these dolls many, many moons ago! I can't wait to see Strawberry Shortcake...her hat is my fav. Did you get the Purple Pieman? Ok, I'll stop..just having a "reliving my childhood" moment. So happy for your new interest & can't wait to see more, if you couldn't tell...he he.

I love that you gave these dolls a house! I have mine from when I was a child including the gazebo and a trike.
ReplyDeleteWow those bring back memories! I love a theme house because you can go wild with the creation. I see the lovely strawberry pillow ;) Oh the cakes, little plates..and maybe a teapot?..a strawberry one ;P
Hi Jennifer, your Hello Kitty dollhouse is great; every tiny detail so in harmony with the rest of the room. You created the perfect environment for the vintage dolls.
ReplyDeleteThese dolls are fun. I like the one on the last photo very much. The house you've made for them looks really nice.

Oh my... you should have written a warning first! So many strawberry designs and items and dolls named Strawberry Shortcake... you have not the slightest idea what this did to Fluby! He was attracted to the monitor like a moth to the light... *sigh* But without joking... your dolls live in the most beautiful house, I have no doubt they're enjoying themselves a lot...

Hi Jennifer! I seem to vaguely remember these from my youth, but of course being a boy I didn't pay any attention to them at the time. I'm sure my sister had a couple of them and I think I destroyed one accidentally... Don't hate me!!! Kind regards, Brian.

I love Strawberry Shortcake. I can remember my one from my childhood. It came with a little cat. I can't remember its name. She even smelt like strawberries! Lovely scenes...great idea to make one for a favourite doll.
ReplyDeleteOh Jennifer! This is fantastic! The pictures are so beautiful. This project had to be a fun one for you. The dolls and house are so very lovely. Hugs, Felma
ReplyDeleteOMG, my sister had those dolls and I'm pretty sure I made a house "for my sister" and "her dolls."
ReplyDeleteOK, it was for me.
Sad, but TRUE!
Cute, cute, cute! Now I know what you've been up to. When you were telling me about it, I wasn't quite sure what dolls you were talking about. These are very much smaller than I thought they'd be. I guess that's what makes them so cute!

I always thought STrawberry Shortcake and her friends were really cute! But I was not really playing with dolls at that time. My sister has a few in her doll collection, and I do have a few in paperdoll form.

OMG I am so happy this has become your new interest because I am crazy about Strawberry Shortcake dolls! I wanted those little dolls when I was a kid but never had one. The vintage dolls are hard to find nowadays and expensive so I buy the newer version! Can't wait to see the rest of the dollhouse! What you have shown so far is so cute!!! ♥
ReplyDeleteI've been a Doll Fanatic for most of my life , you are in for some serious fun!

Marisa
Oh Jenni, also you were using the shoes boxes for the house of Barbie?
ReplyDeleteI have taught sewing to my brother, three years younger than me, because I had never enough curtains or pillows to make the cardboard more welcoming
That said, I love your new flash project, and I can not wait to learn more :-)
Lovely hugs,
Flora
Hi jennifer,
