Spring Is in the Air!

It's sunny and beautiful here today in Portland. About this time every year, we get a few sunny days, and it starts to feel like spring is here. Between the sunshine and the fact that my birthday is coming up (it's around Easter time every year), I start to get "spring fever." How does spring fever manifest for me? I buy things! :-)

And now that I'm into miniatures and using them in my photo stories and greeting cards, I feel like buying miniatures. I always have a good excuse: "I'll be getting a little bit of birthday money, so I can buy a little something special." Does anyone else do this? I hope I'm not the only one. ;-)

In other news, I just made my first sale in my Etsy shop! And guess what? It wasn't cards! No, my greeting cards already sell well in local shops (but so far, not online). Instead, a dear blog friend put in a custom order for some miniatures made by me. It was a huge thrill for me! As soon as I have time, I will add some more miniature listings to my Etsy shop and see what happens.

I'll post again when I've finished my taxes. Ugh! Keep it fun! xoxo Jennifer

    I have to admit my wife goes on 'Spring Buying' binges for her cross stitch stuff whereas I am always looking out for the pennies... it's a curse! Congratulations on your first sale, the first of many I'm sure.

    Hi Jennifer, it is so good to have spring fever, it is such a great feeling, like you can embrace the whole world :)
    Here we have still snow and rain, but spring will come , I`m sure :)
    You bought some lovely miniatures, I also collect and safe my birthday money to go on a miniature fair, and there I spend it all hahahhha, it is always such a wonderful day !!!

    And Spring Fever is so wonderful (happy for You!) it makes people "living" again after winter! That is something I would really like to have now...but we are having so much snow and -20C! I Have to wait for a while!

    es ist schön.... wenn die Frühlingsgefühle bei Dir schon anfangen. Bei uns ist noch immer Winter, sehr sehr kalt und gestern hatte es erst wieder geschneit.... obwohl bei uns... rund um Frankfurt... meist nicht so viel Schnee fällt.

    Aber wie heißt es immer... wir müssen warten, der Frühling wird schon kommen.

    Unfortunately, this fever is the most infectious ... I have a wish list so long (which continues to grow and grow) that the money will never be enough!
    Among other things, I can not even count on my birthday, as my family and friends always give me things that ... not in my list!
    I am very happy for your first sale I know that is a great emotion :-)

    Here's another one desperately longing for spring... but what did I get??? One guess only... yes, right you are: Snow! *blarg* But February will soon be over and winter will lose its power from day to day. Congrats on your first etsy sale! In my opinion it's always a little difficult selling cards via online-shops because of the high extra costs for delivery - at least these were my experiences when I still had my little shop at DaWanda (some kind of a German Etsy). But with miniatures it's different - you can't buy special pieces in the supermarket around the corner... ;O)

    Hello Jennifer, Yesterday, was warm and dry here in Vancouver, Canada. Today is like it never happened. It is bitter cold and now it is even SNOWING!!!??? I thought we were through with all that! Apparently,... not.

    Congratulations Jennifer on your first sale :))) Your items are wonderful. Spring !!!! Yesterday after lots of rain was a beautiful sunny day and really felt like spring to no rain but very cold I thing spring is a tease :DD I am sure most of us can find some excuse to spend money haha.

    Spring shopping sounds like much more fun than spring cleaning. I'm glad that you are enjoying nice weather, I think winter is going to hang on around here for a while, we have more snow on the way for the weekend. I'm the frugal one in my house so my husband pretty much okays any purchase that I decide to make.

    Whenever there are occasions, like Christmas, Mother's Day and my birthday, I get money gifts and always spend everything on miniatures. I love it. I love going on line and selecting things. On my list now is wallpaper for my dollhouse.

    Over here in Ottawa, it's not spring at all. It snowed yesterday and today and the wind was howling. Nevertheless, I braved the storm and bookworm that I am, made my way to the library to pick up books they had set aside for me.

    So happy you made your first sale, Jennifer. Cute stuff!
