Flossy showing the items I sold in my Etsy shop. |
And now that I'm into miniatures and using them in my photo stories and greeting cards, I feel like buying miniatures. I always have a good excuse: "I'll be getting a little bit of birthday money, so I can buy a little something special." Does anyone else do this? I hope I'm not the only one. ;-)
Pretty tea towels and shabby blank books with pages that turn! |
In other news, I just made my first sale in my Etsy shop! And guess what? It wasn't cards! No, my greeting cards already sell well in local shops (but so far, not online). Instead, a dear blog friend put in a custom order for some miniatures made by me. It was a huge thrill for me! As soon as I have time, I will add some more miniature listings to my Etsy shop and see what happens.
I'll post again when I've finished my taxes. Ugh! Keep it fun! xoxo Jennifer

I have to admit my wife goes on 'Spring Buying' binges for her cross stitch stuff whereas I am always looking out for the pennies... it's a curse! Congratulations on your first sale, the first of many I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteHi Hairy Caveman! Which is a curse, the buying or the looking out for the pennies? ;-) You and your wife are certainly not alone in that dynamic. I hear about it all the time from my friends. It might be genetic! :-D Thanks for commenting--it's great to hear from you! xo Jennifer

Wow! Exciting news all around Jennifer!! I agree, I love Spring! My shopping bug comes at winter solstice when I know I'll have xmas bonus money coming - but the feeling is the same so you're not alone!!
ReplyDeleteA super big congrats on your sale in Etsy! That must feel terrific! :)
Hey Jennifer,
PuNo / Monika
Congratulations whit your first sale, it is so well done and must provide an amazing wonderful feeling. Good luck in the future with your sale.

DeleteCongrats on your sale! I didn't realize you have an Etsy shop! I will take a look now that I know. Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... Oh I always find a reason for my my shopping frenzy :P
ReplyDeleteSpring! Lucky you! Here is very cold.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and sweet purchases.
Congratulations for your first sale and good luck with your future sales.
Bye Faby
Unfortunately, this fever is the most infectious ... I have a wish list so long (which continues to grow and grow) that the money will never be enough!
ReplyDeleteAmong other things, I can not even count on my birthday, as my family and friends always give me things that ... not in my list!
I am very happy for your first sale I know that is a great emotion :-)
Mini lovely hugs
Flora
Exciting, the first sale, yay! Hope you'll get many more in the future. :))
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your first sale! I too didn't realize you have an etsy shop. I wish you good luck and many sales to come. We here are also enjoying spring weather. It feels so good.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Drora
Here's another one desperately longing for spring... but what did I get??? One guess only... yes, right you are: Snow! *blarg* But February will soon be over and winter will lose its power from day to day. Congrats on your first etsy sale! In my opinion it's always a little difficult selling cards via online-shops because of the high extra costs for delivery - at least these were my experiences when I still had my little shop at DaWanda (some kind of a German Etsy). But with miniatures it's different - you can't buy special pieces in the supermarket around the corner... ;O)

Birgit
Hi Birgit! Really good point re: selling cards vs. selling miniatures online. I hadn't thought of it that way before. Thanks for sharing a new perspective with me. So sorry about the snow. Hope it clears up soon. xo Jennifer
DeleteHello! I adore your miniature things, you do have a special talent, lots of people do cards but hardly any do miniatures....
ReplyDeleteBestest daisy j
Hi Daisy, Mmm, another great point. I really appreciate the feedback. This is not something I'd considered before either. My trouble is, how do I translate what I do in miniatures on my blog to something that sells? Any ideas, anyone? xo Jennifer
DeleteHi! Oops! I meant to say that you have a really good point about lots of people doing cards and not as many doing miniatures. My first response could have been misunderstood so easily. Thanks for your patience, everyone! :-)
DeleteCongrats on your first sale :)
ReplyDeleteThe towels and the book are really pretty indeed.
I can not wait to smell spring again :)
Hello Jennifer, Yesterday, was warm and dry here in Vancouver, Canada. Today is like it never happened. It is bitter cold and now it is even SNOWING!!!??? I thought we were through with all that! Apparently,... not.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your first miniature sale. Whoo Hoo!
elizabeth

Muy bien jennifer, cuánto me alegro.
ReplyDeleteLos regalos preciosos.
Millones de besitos...Julia
Spring shopping sounds like much more fun than spring cleaning. I'm glad that you are enjoying nice weather, I think winter is going to hang on around here for a while, we have more snow on the way for the weekend. I'm the frugal one in my house so my husband pretty much okays any purchase that I decide to make.
ReplyDeleteA Big Mini Hug
Whenever there are occasions, like Christmas, Mother's Day and my birthday, I get money gifts and always spend everything on miniatures. I love it. I love going on line and selecting things. On my list now is wallpaper for my dollhouse.
ReplyDeleteOver here in Ottawa, it's not spring at all. It snowed yesterday and today and the wind was howling. Nevertheless, I braved the storm and bookworm that I am, made my way to the library to pick up books they had set aside for me.
So happy you made your first sale, Jennifer. Cute stuff!
Unas minis estupendas. Felicidades
ReplyDeleteNow and then we see a big snowflake whirling around and it is cold outside, no bit of spring yet ;)!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your first sale, Jennifer!
Hugs, Ilona
spring is in the air here too! I can't wait until it arrives properly. LOVE love love those tiny books!
Manu

Come ti capisco cara Jennifer!!

Mely.
