I went to
Green Bean Books on Wednesday and installed my first public diorama. Wow! I've been excited all these weeks all the way until it was my scheduled time to be "in the box." I was planning and visualizing, photographing and fretting a little bit too. Jennifer at Green Bean was so supportive and nice and helped me feel relaxed about the whole thing. I'd gathered my supplies up a few days before the big day. Yes, everything was packed and ready.

I think I see something! |
I spent over two hours putting it together, making sure everything was in place just so. Then, it was done! Whew! What a relief! So, without further ado, here's my diorama:
|
It's my first public diorama: Mama Tucks In Baby Mouse! |
It's called Mama Tucks In Baby Mouse. Mama has just read baby mouse a story, and now Baby is asleep in bed. And guess what else? There's a greeting card to match the diorama!
|
Latest greeting card by Plushpussycat Cards! |
It is blank inside, so it can be used for Mother's Day, Get Well Soon, and New Baby! My diorama will be available for viewing through April 30, 2012 (that's two more weeks than originally planned!) at
Green Bean Books in Portland. My greeting cards are available at Green Bean and in my
Plushpussycat Etsy shop. You can view Plushpussycat's entire selection of cards in my
Greeting Card Gallery. Hope to see you at the show! Until next time.... xoxo Jennifer

Aww, so sweet! I love it! I'm going to have to check out your greeting cards. I don't suppose you make them pixie sized, do you? I'd have a whole rack of them at the book store if you did. Just sayin. Adorable! - Miri
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea for your first Diorama!! I have such fond memories of bedtime stories and being tucked in so it warms my heart to look at this sweet little scene :0) I love the combination of the pink and blue gingham with the touch of bright yellow from the lamp, and the little heart rug is lovely :0) It all comes together beautifully, perfect for a greeting card!!

Thank you, everyone, for your lovely comments! I appreciate you all so much--you're so supportive and friendly--it's a real joy having you all in my life! Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment--I read every one of them, and they mean so much! :-) Jennifer
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, I'm a bit late... I had trouble getting on your blog yesterday, always got an error-notice. I have not the slightest idea why, but what counts is that it works fine again now and I am finally able to see your diorama! What a cute scene, I think that's the perfect interpretation of the love of a mother for her child. And making a matching greeting card was very clever - I wish you a great success (which you will have, for sure) and big sales on your beautiful cards!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Birgit
I love it! <3

ReplyDeleteThank you, Birgit, tomgirlstuff, and Felma! I so appreciate your support! Thank you for trying repeatedly to get to my blog! I heard from one other person who was experiencing trouble too. ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer! I´m so late with my comment as our computer crashed and I was offline for a few days. Your little scene is so cute and it must be amazing walking through all those shelfs full of books and suddenly get a glimpse of your diorama. What a surprise then!!! It´s so warm and cozy, something that brings joy to our hearts. Thanks for showing!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Sandra

ReplyDeleteI actually have the vision of some small girls fighting for the best place to get a look inside the shelf.
ReplyDelete(Anyhow that would be real if MY little one got there :-) ) Hugs, Sandra
